The Monroes plot
After their parents are killed in an accident, five orphans try to survive as a family on the Wyoming border. The eldest, Clayt, is eighteen, and he is responsible for sisters Kathy and Amy, who are sixteen and six, and twin brothers, Jefferson and Fennimore, who are nearly twelve. Their new neighbor is Major Mapoy, whom they sometimes get into trouble with. Their friend Jim often comes to their aid.
