The Mandalorian season 1

Very changeable, this first series. Sometimes the right tone is hit; often not. The casting is inspired (Werner Herzog! Carl Weathers! Nick Nolte! Taika Waititi!), the production design is perfectly fine and the whole exudes a convincing old school Star Wars atmosphere, but the content often falls short. Certain episodes even feel a bit A-Team-esque in terms of clumsiness. Fortunately, the last few episodes make up for a lot, which makes me curious about the second series.

The Mandalorian season 1

As a sci-fi western, The Mandalorian is a great foray into the Star Wars universe. While it's not perfect anywhere, I think it will follow Twin Peaks, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, and Game of Thrones in the series' turning points. This time as the moment when Disney enters the series world as a major player.

The sets, effects and costumes all look fantastic. Even at the level of most films, even if the lighting sometimes looks a bit cheaper. The story is captivating with a series of fun new characters. Still, I didn't really empathize with the main character anywhere, purely because you're constantly looking at a mask.

Entertaining series and I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
