Lawman plot

Dan Troop leaves Abilene, Kansas for a new job in the village of Laramie, Wyoming. After the village's previous village marshal is murdered, Dan is offered his job. On the way to the village, Dan encounters a man named Johnny McKay, who eventually becomes his sidekick. Then Johnny learns all about law enforcement and falls hopelessly in love with Lily Merrill, the owner of the Birdcage Saloon.
