Band of Brothers plot

Band of Brothers is a ten-part television series from 2001 about the last months of the Second World War. Co-produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, it depicts the role of the Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, US 101st Airborne Division in the war. The series begins with training in America prior to the Normandy landings and ends in Adolf Hitler's "Eagle's Nest" at the end of the war. Band of Brothers is based on Stephen Ambrose's book of the same name.

Band of Brothers is de beste serie over WOII punt. Je volgt de belevenissen van de Easy-Compagnie van de Airborne Paratroopers vanaf het moment dat ze getraind worden tot de verovering van het Adelaarsnest waar Hitler zich schuil hield. De casting is top. Damian Lewis dient als ankerpunt in de rol van Dick Winters, de leider van Easycompagnie. Verder zijn er goede rollen van o.a. Scott Grimes, Neal McDonough en ook Donnie Wahlberg die hier aantoont dat hij een veel betere acteur dan broertje Marky Mark is.

Band of Brothers is the best series about WWII. You follow the adventures of the Easy Company of the Airborne Paratroopers from the moment they are trained to the capture of the Eagle's Nest where Hitler was hiding. The casting is top notch. Damian Lewis serves as the anchor point in the role of Dick Winters, the leader of Easycompagnie. There are also good roles from Scott Grimes, Neal McDonough and also Donnie Wahlberg who shows that he is a much better actor than brother Marky Mark.

Eindelijk eens volledig gezien. Die eindelijk slaat op het feit dat ik bij de eerste afleveringen steeds ben afgehaakt. Ook deze keer vond ik deze het minste. Te eentonig vooral. Naarmate de serie vordert gebeuren er ook wat andere dingen dan heel de tijd over en weer schieten. Je begint meer de menselijke kant te zien, hoe mensen hebben afgezien, wat ze na de oorlog gaan doen, hoe het hun verandert heeft. Band of Brothers ziet er zeker realistisch uit maar zeker in de eerste afleveringen is het té herhalend. Het hoogetepunt voor mij was zeker aflevering 9. Zeer sterk hoe mensonterend die werkkampen waren. Veel mensen vinden dit de beste show/film dat ze over de oorlog hebben gezien, voor mij komt het totaal niet in de buurt van films als Schindler's List, The Pianist, Hacksaw Ridge, A Bag of Marbles, As far as my feet will carry me, ... Over een tijdje The Pacific ook maar eens bekijken.

Finally seen in full. Which finally refers to the fact that I kept giving up during the first episodes. Also this time I liked this one the least. Especially monotonous. As the series progresses, some things happen other than shooting back and forth all the time. You start to see more of the human side, how people have suffered, what they are going to do after the war, how it has changed them. Band of Brothers certainly looks realistic but especially in the first episodes it is too repetitive. The highlight for me was definitely episode 9. Very strong how degrading those labor camps were.

A lot of people think this is the best show/movie they've seen about the war, for me it doesn't come close to movies like Schindler's List, The Pianist, Hacksaw Ridge, A Bag of Marbles, As far as my feet will carry me, ... Check out The Pacific in a while.

De allerbeste WO 2 serie. Nu pas gezien dankzij de HBOmax aanbieding. Script, regie, cameravoering, decors, acteurs en noem maar op waren top. Je wordt de serie ingezogen. Wat een respect voor al die jongens die hun leven inzetten en gaven voor onze vrijheid. Je krijgt sympathie en leeft mee met de jongens. Knap gedaan. Hoewel soms wat te sentimenteel, stoort het mij niet. De echte "brothers" aan het begin van een aflevering maken duidelijk dat deze jongens helden zijn zonder dat zij dat pretenderen.

The very best WW2 series. Only seen now thanks to the HBOmax offer.

Script, direction, camera work, sets, actors and so on were top notch.

You will be sucked into the series.

What a respect for all those boys who committed and gave their lives for our freedom.

You get sympathy and empathize with the boys. Well done. Although a bit too sentimental at times, it doesn't bother me.

The real "brothers" at the beginning of an episode make it clear that these guys are heroes without pretending to be.
