The power of classic Beck increasingly lies in the backstories of the members of the investigation team. Lively, very different characters with good and sharp chemistry. Steinar (Kristofer Hivju) and Oskar (Måns Nathanaelson) also provide some light in the dark stories.
While the team plays the leading role, Martin Beck (Peter Haber) takes a step back. In fact, Beck seems a bit worn out and cannot add much brilliance in the background. A logical development for the Beck series, because grandson Vilhelm (Tommy Wättring) takes his first steps at the Swedish Polis.
The crimes in this 9th season are not very special, reasonably exciting and occasionally have a fresh twist. The level of the excellent second episode is not reached anywhere. And so Beck remains a good old friend, who delivers reliable quality and now relies mainly on the power of the collective.
