Tenenkrommend slechte star trek serie. Het was de laatste 20 jaar al niet te best qua star trek, maar deze serie brengt de hele franchise naar een nieuw dieptepunt. Om te beginnen met de hele woke inclusiviteit die je opgedrongen wordt. Let maar op, het is zo overduidelijk dat het gewoon stoort. De inhoud en kwaliteit van het verhaal lijken slechts bijzaak, als maar iedereen van elk soort aan boord is. De karakter zijn zelden likeable, gewoon over the top. Zo zijn er dikke crew leden, mensen met een bril (in die verre toekomst?) en zelfs iemand met een rolstoel. Een rolstoel in de verre toekomst? Echt? Heb niks tegen dikke mensen, of gehandicapte mensen, maar dit is gewoon express gedaan om alle inclusiviteits vinkjes af te kunnen vinken. De karakter hebben veel te veel focus op zichzelf, het is allemaal zo platvloers, zo hap snap, echt geen vergelijk met het oude star trek, dat meer gelaagdheid kende en je soms aanzette tot nadenken. Voorbeeld is de kapitein die opzettelijk raar in haar stoel gaat zitten, of geen schoenen aanheeft en in diplomatieke gesprekken gewoon op de tafel gaat zitten. Allemaal in de trant van “kijk mij eens gek doen!”. Wow. Niet te harden deze serie.

A truly awful Star Trek series. Star Trek hasn't been great for the last 20 years, but this series takes the entire franchise to a new low. Starting with the whole woke inclusivity thing that's forced upon you. Just watch, it's so obvious it's simply annoying. The content and quality of the story seem secondary, as long as everyone of every gender is on board. The characters are rarely likable; they're simply over the top. There are overweight crew members, people with glasses (in that distant future?), and even someone in a wheelchair. A wheelchair in the distant future? Really? I have nothing against overweight people, or people with disabilities, but this is simply done deliberately to tick all the inclusivity boxes. The characters are far too focused on themselves; it's all so shallow, so haphazard, and completely incomparable to the old Star Trek, which had more depth and sometimes made you think. An example is the captain who deliberately sits awkwardly in her chair, or goes shoeless and simply sits on the table during diplomatic conversations. All in the spirit of "Look at me acting crazy!" Wow. This series is unbearable.
