And then with Stephen King, and this time a story or movie that is unknown to me. Apparently there is no book about this and it was written directly in front of the screen by King who, like a real Hitchcock, makes his appearance as a bus driver. The quality of a Hitchcock obviously does not have this, you can safely say that this is bad.

It shouldn't have been the story itself, because that seems interesting enough in advance. A janitor who gains special powers after an incident and is then hunted by the authorities because of those powers. RD Call is excellent as a creep/enforcer and Huffman is a gem to the eye although the acting isn't always great. It's the few positives I can think of about the four-hour torture where the negatives are legion. Szarabajka seems to want to make the best of it but simply falls short, his wife Gina is a terribly annoying character, what a whiner that dude. Then the bevy of absurd characters that are often almost ridiculous such as the hippies, the ridiculous doctor Toddhunter and the absurd press photographer Steve Dent. Not to mention the far too long scenes, silly moments between actors and then those dialogues....oh...amai! The so-called cruelty of character Jude Andrews is also regularly too much.

No, The Golden Years is something that can safely be skipped except for the scenes with the beautiful Felicity Huffman, who William H. Macy has done just fine, otherwise this is something to forget very quickly.
