'Tims ^ Tent' (2018) remains a fantastic format in how the entire camping setting already has something cozy and cozy, but it mainly gives Tim den Besten a reason to get the best out of his guests with his nonchalant, loose interview style every episode. . It all seems more spontaneous and unexpected than it is, because in fact den Besten is extremely sharp at the right moments while he is humble enough to let the other person shine. In this third season, the conversations with Samya Hafsaoui and Marieke Lucas Rijneveld are rock solid. Or how, as a practicing Muslim (Hafsaoui) or struggling with their own gender identity (Rijneveld), they have to deal with prejudice, discrimination and the desire to follow their own path that deviates from what is expected. In his interviews with Anne Fleur Dekker and Jamie Li - or both young women with some controversy - he hands out some nasty pinpricks and sometimes steers the conversation towards more precarious topics. Yet it always remains their portrait and den Besten never opts for abrasive inconvenience or major revelations. Stefano Keizers remains hilarious with his postmodern game between authentic person and type, but too often I got the idea that we are seeing the funny guy Keizers himself wants us to see. And regarding Donnie: I didn't like the man and I still don't like him, even Tim den Besten can't do much about that with this format.

Another successful season of Tims ^Tent. This time Texel is the location he visits with his guests, which is also a nice tour of the island. Once again Tim den Besten shows that he is one of the best and above all unique interviewers in the Netherlands. He puts the guests so at ease that in the end he is allowed to ask anything and gets away with it.

In this season's list there were only two guests I knew: Stefano Keizers and Donnie. Strangely enough, I immediately thought these were the least interesting interviews, since these two gentlemen seem a bit 'played' in my opinion. Of the other four guests, I found Marieke Lucas Rijneveld the most interesting. She was a real open book and had a lot of (in my eyes) meaningful information to share. Tim responded well to this.

Bring it on, that fourth season.
