Servant plot

The story follows a young Philadelphia couple in deep mourning after a terrible tragedy turns the disparate foundations of their marriage upside down. This puts their relationship under pressure in an unexpected way. This wedge that has been driven between the man and the woman opens a door to a mysterious force that invades their home.

Ik vond seizoen 1 en 4 heel spannend. Seizoen 2 en 3 kabbelen een beetje voort. Constant dat aantrekken-afstoten-spelletje tussen de moeder en de nanny 2 seizoenen lang, ging ietwat vervelen. Ik had seizoen 2 weggelaten. Rupert Grint speelde best goed evenals de nanny en de husband. De moeder (Dorothy) daar krijg je een hekel aan. Hysterisch als een malle, maar toch heb ik het idee dat dat juist de bedoeling was van de schrijver en de regisseur. Toch blijven dingen onduidelijk. Zoals bijvoorbeeld Roscoe. Wat voegde hij in hemelsnaam toe? Het echte kind in seizoen 4 was ineens niet meer in beeld. Geen idee waar dat peutertje is gebleven? Beetje raar. Verder is het de moeite waard om de serie te bekijken want er gebeurt best veel.

I found seasons 1 and 4 very exciting. Seasons 2 and 3 are dragging along a bit. The constant attract-repel game between the mother and the nanny for 2 seasons got a bit boring. I left out season 2. Rupert Grint played quite well as did the nanny and the husband. You start to hate the mother (Dorothy). Hysterical as hell, but I still have the feeling that that was precisely the intention of the writer and director. Yet things remain unclear. Like Roscoe, for example. What on earth did he add? The real child in season 4 was suddenly no longer in the picture. No idea where that toddler has gone? A bit strange. Furthermore, it is worth watching the series because quite a lot happens.
