Maestro plot
Eight well-known Dutch people with a passion for classical music, but without any conducting experience, compete against each other in the battle for the title 'Maestro'. They have to develop into a top amateur conductor during eight weeks. The jury that judges their conducting skills consists of the conductor Vincent de Kort, the violinist Isabelle van Keulen and the double bassist Dominic Seldis. They can also be advised by the members of the orchestra. In eight episodes, one candidate is eliminated. In the final, each candidate must conduct the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, in addition to a piece of their own choice.
