The Worst Witch plot
The Cackle's Academy is a school for witches. Everyone wears the same uniform and has the same teachers. Only witches from witch families are admitted to the academy. Mildred Hubble doesn't come from a witch family, yet she is admitted to the academy after writing an excellent essay on witches. It takes her a lot of effort to become a good witch and constantly ends up in the strangest situations with all the consequences that entails.

Some funny comedic moments here and there, but as soon as they try to get serious, the series fails hard. I also remember the acting as mediocre.
