Not the best Norwegian series, but the most beautiful images from the Lofoten.

Twin tells the 8-part story of twins Erik and Adam, both played by Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju (Beck, Game Of Thrones). Surfdude Erik gets into trouble and turns to brother-entrepreneur Adam for help. Adam refuses to help him. The case escalates and Adam is accidentally killed by his own wife. Erik takes over Adam's identity and Adam's place in his family. Which of course leads to complications when there is also an adolescent daughter and other family around. The premise is intriguing, the elaboration unfortunately less so. For the first four episodes, Hivju walks around in his new role as Adam in a daze. Explainable given the events, but annoying when that greatly frustrates the pace of the series. From episode five, Twin gains some expressiveness.

The trouble with Twin is that you don't know what you're looking at. Is it a thriller? No, it's not exciting. Is it a comedy then? Unfortunately, it never gets funny. Then it must be a drama? Nope, nowhere is it gripping or moving. Twin is quietly lapping on. The Lofoten are beautiful, but mainly gray and dark. And so Twin is without Erik and without sun, all alone. And that's just too little.

The drama part has a much larger share than the thriller part. The latter is even minimal. In any case, it is an interesting starting point that could eventually go either way. The ending is even of such a nature that a second season could just follow. Well played roles, shot in a beautiful setting. At certain moments the events go a bit too 'over the top' and touch the improbability. They should also have given the first flashbacks a little better. Otherwise a great series.
