Trigger Point plot
Lana Washington works with her colleague Nutkins at the mine clearance service. Both are ex-servicemen and very close to each other, having previously served together in Afghanistan. When terrorist attacks ravage London over the summer, the agents are at the forefront to find out who is behind the bombings before more people are killed.

If Jed Mercurio is on the bill as an executive producer or screenwriter, then you know it's basically right. Mercurio proved its qualities with Bodyguard and of course Line Of Duty, one of the best series of all time. Bloodlands from 2021 was a bit disappointing, and Trigger Point actually does that too. After a great kickstart, Trigger Point slowly sinks into predictable and clichéd police work.
Vicky McClure, a mole, the Met, the explosive ordnance disposal, the atmosphere and pace are in many ways reminiscent of Line of Duty. The screenplay is excellent for the first episodes and sometimes surprising. But as the series progresses and the plot unravels, it seems to become more and more formulaic rush. Episode 6 is the biggest disappointment; rarely have I seen such a dull and predictable final episode. Nevertheless, the life of bomb disposal officer Lana Washington (McClure) can safely be called exciting. A life full of red, yellow and black wires, timers, pressure plates and clocks that count down. Another boring day at work. Not. A bit for the viewer of Trigger Point.
