The Spanish Princess plot

The Spanish Princess follows Catherine of Aragon, the beautiful teenage princess of Spain who has been promised the English throne since she was a child. She arrives in a drab, rainy England with her glorious and diverse court, including her future heir to the throne, Lina, an African from the Sahara. Lina becomes Princess of Wales, but when her husband Prince Arthur suddenly dies, Catherine's throne appears to be lost. However, she claims that her marriage was never consummated and that therefore she can take the throne as a virgin.
