The Nevers plot
London, late 19th century. A group of Victorian women who possess all kinds of mysterious powers are known as the Touched. Among them are the free-spirited Amalia True and her best friend, the brilliant inventor Penance Adair. They repeatedly have to deal with the authorities and also the rest of society who see the Touched as a great danger. Because of this, Amalia and her allies have many enemies.
