The Jewel in the Crown plot

A fateful romance and a false accusation of rape spark violent riots and a political landslide. Although political leader Mahatma Gandhi has called for nonviolent resistance, violent riots are breaking out across the country. People struggle with their identity and their responsibility towards themselves and their environment. They are confronted with personal intrigue and the dramatic consequences of their choices in a world full of change.
