I like the plot in the 1973 movie better; but hey, this is a series and the end of episode 10 sets up a sequel. Money.

It all starts as a very well-constructed thriller. Great plot and setting and Redmayne does an excellent job. Up to season 8 I would have given 4 stars. But from part 8 onwards, in my opinion, things start to go downhill when the Afghanistan period is delved into too deeply. Part 9 takes it up a notch, or better yet, takes it off, when Mr. Swimmer goes solo while he is normally protected by a number of security guards on boats but now suddenly everyone is watching from the shore. That could have been a bit more realistic and exciting. The scenes with the camper were also far too thin in terms of plot and execution. Such a shame while it started so well. In any case, there are enough loose ends to make a second season. This has already been confirmed by a number of websites, but will not be released until 2026 at the earliest.
