The Abandons plot
In the 1850s, Fiona Nolan, a devout Irishwoman unable to conceive, attempts to start a family by adopting four orphans, believing in a higher purpose for her actions. She soon finds herself in conflict with a group of corrupt European aristocrats. The corrupting forces of wealth and power attempt to drive several families from their land. These individuals, living on the margins of society, unite their tribes to fight back.
