Shadowplay plot
Max McLaughlin is an American agent who arrives in Berlin in the summer of 1946 to help set up a police force in the chaotic aftermath of the war. Max's goal is to take down "Engelmacher" Gladow, the Al Capone of post-war Berlin. At the same time, Max embarks on a secret crusade to find his missing brother, who kills ex-Nazis in hiding. Unbeknownst to Max, however, he is being used as a pawn in what is the actual beginning of the Cold War.

Excellent suspenseful series with different storylines.
Too bad that apparently all Germans speak good English. I think it took two generations before most Germans can speak English.
The Russians have acted over the top as bad guys. But other than that I think the atmosphere is excellent. Post-war bombed-out Berlin divided into four sectors and the civilians trying to survive.
Murder, revenge, love, romance, extreme cruelty, history lesson. It's all in the series. And I don't know if it's all right.
Nina Hoss is an excellent performer. In any case, the German actors play well.
Nice series about a post-war Berlin.
