Emily Thorne returns to The Hamptons to spend the summer, so to speak. She rents a cottage next to the Grayson family's villa. But she doesn't just do that: as a child she often came to 'The Hamptons'. In reality, Emily's real name is 'Amanda Clarke'. Her father was cheated and robbed by the Grayson family long ago, and after her father died in prison, she returns to exact revenge on everyone involved. At the top of her list is 'Victoria Grayson', the mother of the Grayson family. Emily must try to carry out her plan without being too noticeable. But that turns out to be easier said than done, because a lot of unexpected developments make this more difficult.
