Our Mutual Friend plot

London, second half of the 17th century. Collecting corpses from the Thames is the livelihood of the Gaffer Hexam and his daughter Lizzie. When her father drowns, however, Lizzie seems to be alone. The trail of the last victim they retrieved from the river turns out to lead to another world: a world of wealth and celebrations. A complex story of mystery, love, money and crime unfolds.
