Indian-American teen Devi Vishwakumar has two best friends, East Asian Eleanor and half-black, half-white lesbian Fabiola. They are known as the UN by the students at their Sherman Oaks high school for their cleverness and diversity. After a traumatic year, Devi wants to be popular instead of a downer, but friends, family and feelings aren't going to make it easy for her.
