My Life Is Murder plot

Intrepid private detective Alexa Crowe acts on instinct: she can be deeply empathetic, but also blunt to the point of rudeness. Other than the fact that her husband died a few years ago, very few people know much about Alexa or why she left the police force. When ex-colleague and old friend Detective Inspector Kieran Hussey asks her to help with his tricky business, she seems reluctant at first. But in reality she can't resist. Alexa gets help from the bubbly, sarcastic, ambitious Madison, who works as a data analyst for the police.
