After a few episodes I thought: ok, dramatic to gripping, but it's about the same thing: housing, work, childcare...
The sequel, however, brings more aspects of this woman plagued by partner violence. A very strong young woman, by the way, optimistic and understanding by nature, who for a long time copes with the setbacks but still knows the helpless, desperate moments, a woman also who carries love in her heart, not only for her child but also for those who helps her, her mother, in spite of the transcendent difficulties, to the willingness towards her husband...
So a lot of energy and warmth in this series that also allows us to take a look at the aid organization, usually based on the efforts of a few.
Superb performances by Margaret Qualley and not much less by Andie MacDowell.

Impressive miniseries. I watched it in 3 times because it was so immersive. It has also opened my eyes that leaving alone is not enough. Alex is not only confronted with bureaucratic regulations at the government, hopeless poverty, but also on her environment (friends, family) she cannot build enough to get out of her situation. Very sad to see that people doubt her and are not really there for her (especially her father I found very frustrating to see how he could let her down like that and maybe actually didn't see how wrong he was sat). Very strong of the series, because it shows why it is so difficult to get rid of abuse. But there were also enough highlights that made the series very beautiful. The help from sometimes unexpected quarters and the willpower and love that Alex has for her daughter. It is a series that will stay with me, and which I think is very good and important that attention is paid to this.

Great series, I hated mother Paula, so that is very well acted by Andie MacDowel. The entire series is also set in a colorless setting in a shabby neighborhood. Actors play well, but I still stick to a 7. It all took me a little too long, the series could have easily been done in 6-8 episodes, so there would have been more speed. so I missed it.
