Magpie Murders plot

When editor Susan Ryeland gets her hands on the manuscript of the latest detective from bestselling author Alan Conway, she has no idea that it will change her life. After all, she has worked as an editor for the author for years and is familiar with his character, detective Atticus Pünd, who solves murders in sleepy English countryside villages in the 1950s. And although Susan knows that these kinds of detectives sell like hot cakes, she isn't very fond of Alan Conway herself. But then it turns out that Conway's latest book is not what it seems. Yes, there are multiple murders and there are many suspects with different motives. But the story turns out to be bigger than that. Between the lines, a true story takes place. This story is overflowing with jealousy, ruthless ambition and murder. Before Susan knows it, she's in the middle of it all. And she pays a high price for it…
