Lost plot

After a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles crashes onto a remote island, a band of survivors led by Dr Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox) must work together to stay alive. As they soon find out, it is not only the wildlife they need to defend themselves against, as the island's many secrets are slowly revealed.

Bij seizoen 4 was de schrijversstaking goed zichtbaar. Niet alleen in het aantal afleveringen, maar ook in de gebeurtenissen op en rond het eiland. Veelal dragen de gebeurtenissen niets bij, of was het gewoonweg niet heel interessant. Maar ook dit seizoen was voor de rest prima. Heb het toentertijd niet met tegenzin gekeken.

In season 4, the writers' strike was clearly visible. Not only in the number of episodes, but also in the events on and around the island. Often the events contribute nothing, or it was simply not very interesting. But this season was also good for the rest. Didn't look at it grudgingly at the time.

Het is even wennen dat het grote mysterie inmiddels zo goed als ontrafeld is, maar inhoudelijk is het een van de betere seizoenen. De mindfuck zit dit keer in de goed geschreven plotwendingen en bizarre ontknopingen. Maar gelukkig staat nog steeds de persoonlijke ontwikkelingen van de karakters voorop en ditmaal krijgen we meer dan ooit een beeld van hun leven. Na een ietwat tegenvallende derde serie is dit een positieve voortzetting van de serie.

It takes some getting used to that the great mystery is now as good as unraveled, but in terms of content it is one of the better seasons. The mindfuck this time is in the well-written plot twists and bizarre denouements. But luckily the personal development of the characters is still paramount and this time we get more than ever a picture of their lives. After a somewhat disappointing third series, this is a positive continuation of the series.

Ik blijf de dag afsluiten met een paar afleveringen van Lost, gewoon een geweldige komische serie, en wat er toch allemaal op dat speciale eiland te vinden is, ongelooflijk. Men doet er operaties, er zijn duizenden echte fakkels, er is blijkbaar maar één weg door het grote oerwoud, men komt er mekaar altijd tegen, soms is het echt belachelijk, ik zal nooit de hype rond deze slapstick begrijpen, maar ja een mens kan is lachen. En ik denk dat Holloway nog hoofdpijn heeft van altijd te fronsen en kwaad te zien. De overacting van hem doet mij denken aan Caruso in CSI Miami, die er nu zelf enorm mee kan lachen...

I'll end the day with a few episodes of Lost, just a great comedy series, and what you can find on that special island, unbelievable. They do operations there, there are thousands of real torches, there is apparently only one way through the big jungle, you always meet each other there, sometimes it's really ridiculous, I'll never understand the hype around this slapstick, but hey, one can laugh. And I think Holloway still has a headache from always frowning and looking angry. His overacting reminds me of Caruso in CSI Miami, who can now laugh about it himself...
