La Brea plot
When a huge sinkhole mysteriously forms in Los Angeles, it tears a family in two, separating mother and son from father and daughter. When part of the family finds themselves in an inexplicable primordial world, along with a disparate group of strangers, they must work together to survive and unravel the mystery. I can appreciate these kinds of series.
You learn more about each character's background as the series progresses. I certainly think the actors act well, the storylines are good and refreshing and there are many "oh yes" moments. I also like that the episodes follow each other, it keeps you wondering what will happen to whom.
I have now finished seasons 1 and 2 and am eagerly awaiting season 3.
If you like science fiction/mystery then you will definitely enjoy yourself at La Brea.

I like the story and that's why I give it a pass, but there are quite a few things that are just not very good. The acting is not great, the CGI is sometimes quite bad, but at other times it is good. Season 1 is a small 7, but season 2 just has too many mistakes for me, so I can't really give it more than a 6. I love these types of films/series and the story is okay, but the execution could be better.

It's a "just not" case, but it still appeals to me. Watched 8 episodes now and it's quite changeable.
The acting isn't really admirable.
The CGI is on a really depressing level, just downright bad.
The story itself is quite nice, but the execution is shaky.
