Jubilee plot
Exactly a month before the independence of India and Pakistan, bona fide producer Shrikant Roy, owner of the Roy Talkies studio in Bombay, is looking for a new actor for his latest film, Sunghursh. He hopes to give the pseudonym 'Madan Kumar' to the selected person. Jamshed Khan is selected but is currently having an extramarital affair with Sumitra Kumari, a high-profile Bollywood actress and Roy's wife. They both plan to flee to Karachi. Binod Das, Roy's right-hand man, is sent to Lucknow to bring both Jamshed and Sumitra back to the studio.
