Film adaptation of EM Forster's famous 1910 book about the two unconventional and independent Schlegel sisters. Margaret Schlegel is an idealistic, intelligent young woman who is coveted by Henry Wilcox, a self-made conservative millionaire, after his wife Ruth suddenly dies and he becomes the owner of the Howards End estate. Margaret's younger sister Helen deals with the young unemployed clerk Leonard, which leads to a clash between the classes.
