Heterdaad plot
Heterdaad tells the ups and downs of the BOB: The Belgian Investigation Brigade, a former gendarmerie unit that deals with the most serious forms of crime. It is 1996, and the police reform after the Dutroux case has not yet come to fruition. The police war is still raging and the gendarmerie in particular often balances on the edge of the legal in the fight against crime itself.

Heteraad is a beautiful Flemish series from the mid 90s. Good storylines. The series was created in collaboration with the Brussels gendarmerie, where all the actors did an internship. The scenarios are based on authentic events. Excellent cast with great roles by Jo De Meyere and Gilda De Bal, both portray their characters very well.
Fun fact: Those who like the series of cops will recognize Jo De Meyere in his role as John Nauwelaerts ( later seasons of cops). He was still adjutant in the Heterdaad series. Nicely thought out.
Just like Baantjer, you often hear that Heterdaad is boring… of course it is not flashy as it is nowadays, but it is certainly not boring. If it looks long-winded, yes good police work is not solved in a sigh and a fart…
Great series for that period and certainly worth looking back and tasting the Belgian atmosphere.
