Heartbeat plot

Officer Nick Rowan is an English police officer in the 1960s who decides to be transferred from London to the village where his wife Kate was born. There he patrols the countryside as part of a small unit that deals with daily affairs and problems that arise. Meanwhile, he keeps an eye on Claude Greengrass, the local villain.
