Maybe some strange criticism, but I was a bit disappointed that 'Greenleaf' suddenly introduces white antagonists. Or like the father and daughter behind Hope & Harmony want to set up a kind of church community that takes the soul and individuality from Calvary. It's such a cliché of the capitalist 'oil baron' who, with his boundless greed, puts the other morally ambiguous characters in a positive light. 'Greenleaf' was so refreshing precisely because all the characters (both protagonists and antagonists) were played by a diverse, non-archetypal cast. With the character of Pastor Phil there is some layering and it is nice that Charity Greenleaf comes more to the fore as a schemer.
