From Dusk till Dawn: The Series plot

Seth Gecko and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard "Richie" Gecko, are wanted by the FBI and Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez. The brothers have caused a bloodbath after a robbery at a bank. Among the dead are civilians, law enforcement officers and Texas Ranger Earl McGraw, Gonzalez's mentor. On their way to the Mexican border, the brothers are chased by Gonzalez. Drug lord Don Carlos leads them to a strip club populated by vampires, all of whom must fight until dawn to survive.

Na zes afleveringen in seizoen 2 toch maar mee gestopt. Het is zeker niet slecht, maar om de een of andere manier had ik plotseling de behoefte niet meer om het aan te zetten. De cast is in dit seizoen wel iets leuker. Rodriguez regulars Danny Trejo en Jeff Fahey worden, samen met Esai Morales (Jericho), aan de cast toegevoegd. Trejo loopt een beetje verloren rond, terwijl Fahey juist wel erg leuk is. Daarnaast vind ik Jake Busey nog steeds een topper. Dit seizoen maakte gelukkig wel veel minder gebruik van die lachwekkende CGI, zoals in seizoen 1 het geval was. Zit hier en daar ook wel wat leuke gore in. Helaas lijkt From Dusk Till Dawn om de een of andere manier niet helemaal geschikt voor een serie. Had er eerlijk gezegd ook niet aan moeten denken dat ik zometeen ook nog aan het derde seizoen zou moeten beginnen. Zou dit seizoen eigenlijk een 3,5* geven, want er zitten zeker leuke dingen in. Er gaat alleen een halfje af omdat ik tijdens dit seizoen toch ben afgehaakt. Het nodige plotseling helemaal niet meer uit om nog verder te kijken, wellicht ook wel omdat de hoofdpersonen eigenlijk niet interessant genoeg zijn.

After six episodes in season 2, it was discontinued. It's certainly not bad, but somehow I suddenly didn't feel the need to turn it on.

The cast is a bit nicer in this season. Rodriguez regulars Danny Trejo and Jeff Fahey, along with Esai Morales (Jericho), are added to the cast. Trejo is a bit lost, while Fahey is very nice. In addition, I still think Jake Busey is a topper. Fortunately, this season made much less use of that laughable CGI, as was the case in season 1. There's also some nice gore here and there. Unfortunately, From Dusk Till Dawn somehow doesn't seem quite right for a series. To be honest, I didn't even think about starting the third season.

Would actually give this season a 3.5*, because there are certainly nice things in it. There is only half off because I dropped out during this season anyway. Suddenly it is no longer necessary to look any further, perhaps also because the main characters are actually not interesting enough.
