Doctor James Kildare begins his career as an intern with the veteran Dr. Leonard Gillespie. He initially ignores all advice from Dr. Gillespie and completely develops his own style in dealing with patients. In the end, Kildare manages to stand on his own two feet and has to deal with the most diverse cases and patients.
