Dirty Lines plot
1987, Amsterdam: a time and place in which Dutch society was changing rapidly. Psychology student Marly Salomon starts a side job at a brand new company: Teledutch. The telecom company, founded by the brothers Frank and Ramon Stigter, is Europe's first company in sex telephone lines. Within a short time Frank and Ramon are making money like water, and Marly is completely sucked into this wild and fast transformation. The sex phone lines offer a new way to experience sex anonymously, forever changing not only the morale of consumers, but above all that of their creators.

Wow this is great. It touches every chord I experienced in the 80's. Yes, it's funny and corny, but in a wonderfully over the top way that made me laugh all the time. What a wonderful feel good series this is…

Surprisingly nice Dutch Netflix comedy about the rise of the 06 sex lines in the 90s. Mild in tone and at the same time very over the top, Dirty Lines gives an eye for detail an insight into life in the 80s and 90s. Against the background of a rapidly changing society, we see the rise of chat box company Teledutch. Joy Delima (actress and Volkskrant columnist) plays a great lead role. Understated, vulnerable, naive but also activist, enthusiastic and full of joie de vivre; Delima knows how to convey it delicately and full of small nuances.
