De Affaire plot

Tom Waardenburg and Dana Lievens are two investigative journalists who reopen cases that have been extensively in the news and are listed as closed. The reopening of these cases is quite sensitive to the judiciary and is not without danger. With this, the duo not only puts their lives on the line every time, but also their private lives come under great pressure. For example, Tom finds it difficult to combine caring for his child with his work and Dana gets unsavory types at her door every time, which gives her a bad name in the neighborhood where she lives. Yet this does not stop the duo and they will not stop until the bottom stone is brought up and the people responsible are still on trial.

Meer dan behoorlijke Nederlandse thrillerserie over onderzoeksjournalistiek en grote geopolitieke hangijzers. Het is zo'n serie die (mochten ze het vervolgd hebben) vast betere seizoenen zou opleveren, maar ze gaven er na één seizoen de brui aan. Peter Blok en Kiki van Deursen zijn leuk op elkaar ingespeeld als respectievelijk oude rot in het vak versus het naïeve groentje. Allemaal niet vernieuwend of origineel.

More than a decent Dutch thriller series about investigative journalism and major geopolitical issues. It's one of those series that (if they had continued) would probably yield better seasons, but they gave up after one season. Peter Blok and Kiki van Deursen are nice to each other as old hand in the trade versus the naive rookie. Not all innovative or original.
