Das Geheimnis des Totenwaldes plot

Within a few weeks, two murdered lovers were found in the forest of Göhrde in Lower Saxony in the summer of 1989. The popular local recreation area soon became known as the “Totenwald”. When, in contrast to the previous murders, another woman disappears, the police quickly have a suspect in mind: the husband of the missing woman. His brother-in-law, a high-ranking detective, does not believe in his guilt. The investigation would drag on for decades and it was only after his retirement in the early 1990s that he came across revealing inconsistencies in the investigation.
