Crashing Eid season 1

A bit tame. And you can tell that there is no (yet) flourishing Saudi film and television culture. Cinematically, it doesn't amount to much. But 'Crashing Eid' (2023) is nevertheless a very nice comedy of manners with sympathetic characters and a socially critical touch. I laughed out loud a few times at the silly antics surrounding Razan and Sameer's marriage plans. From a Western perspective, it's silly that this intercultural marriage is being made difficult, but 'Crashing Eid' (2023) playfully explains where the shoe pinches. Such as the racist treatment of Pakistanis and the culture of shame surrounding domestic violence and divorce. It helps that some traditions and unwritten rules are just as absurd for the main characters as they are for the viewer. And yet you also develop a soft spot for the conservative parents and the difficult brother.
