800 Words plot

George Turner is a popular columnist who writes for a successful newspaper in Sydney, Australia. After the death of his wife, he quits his job and on a whim buys a new house in the New Zealand coastal town of Weld, where he went with his parents as a child. George goes there with his teenage children Shay and Arlo in search of a new beginning. The colorful and curious residents ensure that that dream does not go according to plan.
