We follow the controversial Remnant Fellowship Church and their charismatic leader, diet guru Gwen Shamblin Lara. After becoming famous for her Weigh Down Workshop—a Christian diet program that equated thinness with godliness—Lara founded the Church in Tennessee. Despite a carefully cultivated image, the alleged sectarian practices quickly became the target of accusations of abuse and exploitation. This series covers years of research and extensive interviews with former members and others directly affected by the movement. She examines the legacy of Remnant's infamous leader, whose life came to an abrupt end in a shocking plane crash in May 2021.
