In 1988, the body of Scott Johnson, a 27-year-old gay American doctoral student, was found under a cliff on a rugged beach in Sydney, Australia. Since then, his older brother Steve has been desperately searching for answers about Scott's death. He could never have imagined the powder keg he would open: a wave of anti-gay violence and the murder of dozens of gay men as Australians grapple with their country's history of severe corruption and senseless homophobia.
