Leaving Afghanistan plot
After the 9/11 attacks in 2001, the United States moved into Afghanistan to dismantle al-Qaeda. Ultimately, that battle would last until August 2021, when the Taliban took power in Afghanistan. This diptych examines the twenty-year road to this disaster from the perspective of the people who were there when the decisions that sealed Afghanistan's fate were made.
