Langs de Rijn plot
Martin Hendriksma and Huub Stapel take a trip along the lifeline of Europe, the river Rhine. From its source in the Swiss Alps to Hoek van Holland where it flows into the North Sea. The Rhine is a river full of stories; of drowned villages and treacherous rocks, of boatmen, painters and soldiers. The Rhine is a muse and a 'femme fatale' at the same time. For centuries, the course of the Rhine shaped our economy, culture and identity. But what does 'father Rhine' still have to tell us today?
