Friends like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese plot
The series investigates the shocking 2012 murder of 16-year-old Skylar Neese from West Virginia by her two best friends. On July 6, 2012, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf lured Skylar to a remote wooded area near the Pennsylvania border under the pretense of drug use. There, they stabbed her more than 50 times. When Rachel later confessed, she gave the simple yet chilling reason that they "just didn't like Skylar anymore" and didn't want to be friends with her anymore. The case led to the introduction of "Skylar's Law" in West Virginia, which relaxed the criteria for issuing Amber Alerts for missing children.
