Journalist Teun van de Keuken delves into the world behind our waste. In the Netherlands alone, about 60 billion kilos of garbage are produced every year. But where do we put all that junk? Producers, waste processors and governments all boast about recycling, in other words: the circular economy. “There is no such thing as waste”, say the waste processors. But is that actually true? Teun puts the dirtiest side of our consumer society in the spotlight. Our waste management appears to have become a complex industry in which a lot of crazy things happen.
