Captive Audience plot
At the age of seven, Steven Stayner was kidnapped in 1972 in Merced, California by convicted sex offender Kenneth Eugene Parnell. Seven years later, after escaping with five-year-old Timmy White, Steven returned to his family and made headlines. This three-part documentary series looks at the effects of the media spotlight on Steven and his family, including his older brother Cary, who years later became the serial killer known as the Yosemite Killer.
