A Perfect Planet plot

Everything about our world—its size, its distance from the sun, its turn and tilt, its moon—is perfectly suited to our existence. The natural forces of our planet nourish life perfectly. A global weather system circulates and distributes freshwater to all corners of the globe, ocean currents deliver nutrients to the deepest reaches of the ocean, sunlight heats and energizes everything it touches, and powerful volcanoes create and fertilize the land. As a result, there is literally no part of our planet where there is no life. This five-part series shows how the forces of nature power, shape and support the great diversity of wildlife on Earth.

Reviews & comments

The years are beginning to count for David Attenborough, but luckily we can still enjoy his masterly voice. This five-part nature series is again breathtakingly beautiful, although we get to see (and hear) little new. It's just all just a little more impressive than before. The BBC continues to reign supreme in this genre, which is once again proven here. And Attenborough the uncrowned king.

The common thread that runs through all episodes and then gets full attention in the last one is that global warming is disrupting our entire ecosystem and we and we alone are the culprits.

This wonderful series can count as a warning. Everyone knows the phenomena, but the dramatic evolution is much deeper and on many levels.

The different aspects of the decline of our planet are shown with beautiful examples and unparalleled beautiful images of nature.

An absolute must for this series.
