Quite entertaining and thrilling, this six-part miniseries is about a murderer who haunts the loch of Loch Ness, but it's all just a little too cosy. The plot is cleverly put together, but more than once things are held together by coincidences. Add to that the not too credible cast and you can say that we are not dealing with a high flyer here. Very nice pictures of the area, that is.

I concur with the above. The Loch knows how to entertain, but not so much to convince. It is all well put together and the final denouement is surprising, but on the other hand it is all very far-fetched. One owes much to the beautiful locations, which contribute to the grim, mysterious atmosphere. I thought the series was a bit like Broadchurch in several respects (Annie/Lauren reminded me somewhat of Miller/Hardy and of course the blue rope can't go unnoticed), but The Loch never reaches the level of that series. Definitely nice to have seen, but I didn't find it impressive.
