Don't expect tension or action like Homeland, Jack Ryan or Condor in The Americans, but a subdued crime drama about the lives of two Russian KGB spies in the US. In this beautiful series finale, the tensions in the all american model family increase, which makes for beautiful scenes between Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys (Perry Mason and many other films and series) and daughter Holly Taylor. Noah Emmerich plays the delightfully hypothermic neighbor and FBI agent Stan Beeman. Of course, you could laugh at the many costume parties, the sometimes forced script or the slowing scenes that play out in the Soviet Union. Uncalled for. The wonderful 80s atmosphere, the believable acting and the political Cold War references make The Americans an entertaining drama.
