Scrublands plot
In a remote rural town, a charismatic and devoted young priest calmly opens fire on his congregation, killing five parishioners. A year later, investigative journalist Martin Scarsden arrives in Riversend to write a simple editorial on the anniversary of the tragedy. But when Martin's instincts kick in and he digs beneath the surface, the previously accepted story begins to fall apart and he finds himself in a life-and-death race to discover the truth.

I've seen both seasons of this Australian version of Morden i Sandhamn (Series, 2010 - 2025). I didn't enjoy the second season as much because of the weak and somewhat silly ending. The stories in both seasons are well-constructed. A few false leads are laid out to distract the viewer from the real culprit. The series is easy to watch because of the excellent cast, the beautiful setting, and the fact that each story is short, with four 45-minute episodes.
